The paradox of tolerance is only a paradox if you think of tolerance as some sacred and unconditional moral duty. Some ultimate and absolute law with no exceptions, and if you ever slip into the sin of intolerance, you must repent yourself and beg for forgiveness. Yeah no fuck that. Tolerance is a social contract. You’re in the game as an equal player for as long as you play by the same rules as everyone else, and if you don’t, your ass is fucking out. You’re not entitled to the same respect you won’t give others.

Tumblr is so funny because you can make a post like “hey do not mix bleach and vinegar in your cleaning, you’ll make chlorine gas and you do not want to make chlorine gas. It is dangerous to mix these two specific chemicals together”, and the comments are like
“Um vinegar isn’t dangerous?? My mom cleans things with vinegar all the time and we have never had lung issues. White people are insane.” (<- does not use bleach, missing the point)
“OH MY GOD BLEACH IS CHLORINE GAS? NOBODY EVER TOLD ME I’VE BEEN CLEANING WITH BLEACH MY WHOLE LIFE, I WILL DIE.” (<- has literally never used vinegar in cleaning, and never mixed the two, missing the point)
“This is just stupid fearmongering, we use bleach and vinegar to wash the floors all the time, OP is lying.” (<- does not actually know what “vinegar” is, and is confusing the word for something else)
“Yeah this is true enough but also keep in mind that this kind of household cleaning product chlorine gas is too weak and unreliable to use for domestic terrorism purposes.” (<- raises concerns, but potentially has a point)

Reminder that in 2017 4chan played capture the flag with Shia LaBeouf. Without any kind of a retail store to use for landmarks they got a rough estimate of the flags location from a livestream. They used the position of the sun to narrow it down to a specific time zone, they tracked the flight paths of planes seen flying overhead to further narrow it down. Then someone in the area drove around honking his horn while viewers on the livestream told him if he was getting closer until he found and stole the flag.
While it’s sad this will be the last season, I’m really happy they got to finish their story and that we got to experience this masterpiece together. Also remember, a show is never truly over as long as you love it. The impact it had on us will always remain ❤
